Q:	I requested access to the WACHE school website. Why won't it let me login?
A:	You will not be able to login until you are approved for access. You will receive a welcome email once you are approved and can then login. You will not be approved unless you have completed all the steps for WACHE membership. Please visit www.wacheweb.org to apply for membership to our main organization.

What is the difference between WACHE and WACHE School?

WACHE (Westside Association of Christian Home Educators) is our main homeschool group. Membership into our main homeschool group gives you the opportunity to join in on events, field trips, parties, etc. Membership with WACHE also gives you the opportunity to sign up for our co-op classes. Our co-op classes are called WACHE School. If you are interested in co-op classes, you must be a member of WACHE. Please visit our main website at www.wacheweb.org for information on how to join.

Q:	What kinds of classes do you offer?
A:	We offer a wide variety of both academic and elective classes which vary each semester based on interest and volunteers. Some examples of classes offered consistently each semester include Math, IEW, Sciences, History, Bible, Music, Choir, Instruments, Art, Theater, Cooking, Photography, Yearbook and P.E.

What ages can attend WACHE School?

Normally, children from birth through 12th grade can attend WACHE School. We have nursery available beginning at 6 weeks old. Our nursery through pre-k classes are ONLY available to families who have school-aged children attending classes at WACHE school. If your oldest child is not yet school age (kinder and above), you will need to wait to register for WACHE School classes until your oldest has reached that stage. (You are still welcome to join the WACHE organization and participate in field trips, events, parties, etc.). Grades are based on age for students attending WACHE school with September 1st as the cut-off date.

What does the parent involvement look like during WACHE School?

The parent or legal guardian who attends WACHE School with their children each week will be given a “job” during each class hour their child has classes. This could range from teaching a class (only if you sign up to do so), assisting a teacher in a class, being on the support team, or being a substitute (given an assignment to fill in where needed when someone is absent). You may also be expected to help with one of the following areas each week, and placed on one of these duties: set up crew, lunch duty, clean up/tear down crew, or snack shack duty.

My child has special circumstances that will require special attention. Can my family attend WACHE School?

WACHE School endeavors to be inclusive as much as we are able with the teachers and resources available to us. If you have a student that has special circumstances, this needs to be disclosed on the WACHE School registration site and discussed with administration prior to registering for classes.

WACHE School cannot guarantee that we can accommodate your special circumstance or that our classes will be a good fit for your student. This will be discussed with administration prior to registering for classes.

Q:	What is the deadline to register for classes?
A:	This date changes from semester to semester, and year to year. We usually have one registration day. The fall semester registration day usually occurs sometime around mid May to early June, and the Spring registration day is usually in early December. These dates will be posted on our website, and also on our Facebook page and email newsletters for current members.

Q:	How many classes/hours are required to attend each week at WACHE School?
A:	If you decide to register your student for WACHE School classes, you can choose anywhere from 2-4 consecutive classes for each week. One thing to keep in mind when choosing your classes and the times you want to attend is that our lunchtime is between our 2nd and 3rd hour classes, which is a nice time for kids to spend time with their friends.

How many weeks does WACHE School meet throughout the school year? What day of the week? What time?

WACHE School meets on Mondays for 12 weeks in the fall and 12 weeks in the spring. We take breaks on any major holidays that our WACHE School classes might fall on (Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, and also Spring Break). If we have to cancel classes for any reason, (such as inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances) WACHE School Leadership will notify school participants if a make up day is possible based on our host church’s schedule.

The Fall WACHE School semester will begin with our mandatory Orientation and Meet the Teacher prior to the start of the semester. Our WACHE School classes are typically scheduled to begin on the Monday after Labor Day and will go through early December, with one week off for Columbus Day and for Thanksgiving week.

Our morning announcements begin at 9AM each Monday, quickly followed by our first hour class at 9:20. We have four hour long class periods, with a lunch break in between our 2nd and 3rd hour classes.

Q:	Are all parents required to teach at least once a semester/school year?
A:	No. You do not ever have to teach a class if it is not something you are comfortable doing. There are plenty of other ways to help at WACHE School each week. However, if you have something you can teach that would benefit our students – we would LOVE to have you! We typically require our members to attend at least one full semester prior to teaching.

Q:	If I pay extra, can I drop off my elementary or middle school aged student?
A:	No. We do not offer a drop-off program for these grade levels. We do, however, have the IMPACT high school age drop off program. You can learn more about that under the "IMPACT Program" tab at the top.

Am I guaranteed to get the class I want for my child?

No. We do our WACHE School registration on a priority basis. Board Members, WACHE School Leadership, teachers based on how many classes taught last semester, then current WACHE members based on attendance at WACHE School the previous semester, then brand new WACHE members. If a class you wanted has filled up by the time your registration slot opens up, you will need to choose an alternate class. If you are not able to get classes, you will not be charged thesemester registration fees. (The annual WACHE membership/website fee is non-refundable).

Can I attend classes with my child?

If you are teaching a class, you could certainly register your child for the class you are teaching. You can request to be an assistant in a class your child is in, but it is not guaranteed you will get that room assignment. Parent assignment requests are based on many different factors that our WACHE School Directors has to take into consideration when creating all of the parent assignments for the semester. We do our best to make accommodations whenever possible, but we just can not guarantee this to everyone. If you have a child or a situation with extenuating circumstances and must be in their classroom, feel free to reach out to our School Director to discuss this further.

I am only interested in the co-op classes. Can I just join WACHE School?

No. WACHE (Westside Association of Christian Home Educators) is our main homeschool group.WACHE School is a ministry within the WACHE organization. You must first be a member of the WACHE organization before you can take part in WACHE School. You get to enjoy the other benefits of being a member of WACHE such as events, field trips, Mom's Night Out, parties, etc as well as the opportunity to participate in the co-op classes. What if I don't get in any classes? Do I get a refund?

Membership to the WACHE organization is required in order to register for our co-op classes and the fees associated with this membership are non-refundable. In the event you do not get in any co-op classes for your children, you will retain your WACHE membership and still be able to participate in any activities, field trips, parties and events within the WACHE organization. All fees associated with WACHE school will only be charged if you are able to register for classes for your student.
