Educational Overview
WACHE School
A ministry of WACHE — enriching and enhancing your family's home education.
WACHE School offers both academic and enrichment classes in a structured, Christ-centered learning environment for K–12th graders, plus early childhood classrooms for siblings ages 4 and under. We meet once a week on Mondays during the school year (12 weeks fall + 12 weeks spring).
All WACHE classes glorify God and His Word. Our teachers and students are expected to adhere to Scripture and the WACHE Statement of Faith.
How Our Co-op Works
WACHE School is a true co-op, not a drop-off program. Classes are taught by parents of the children participating. These teachers volunteer their time, talent, and effort for our community. Occasionally, we may bring in an independent contract teacher to fill a specific class need.
Enrollment requirements
- Families must enroll in a minimum of 2 consecutive hours of classes (first-semester families on a probationary semester are exempt).
- All participating children must be enrolled in a class for every hour they are on campus.
- Parents serve in assigned positions for every hour their family is on campus.
Age & grade placement
- Register students in the grade appropriate for their age: a student must be 5 years old before September 1st to register for Kindergarten, 6 for 1st grade, and so on.
- Grade levels may only advance one grade each year.
Registration & Attendance
WACHE School classes are not guaranteed — enrollment is based on availability and a priority registration system that rewards attendance and service.
Registration priority (in order)
- Board & leadership team
- Teachers — prioritized by the number of classes taught and attendance
- Members — prioritized by attendance record (fewer absences = earlier registration)
- New members
Attendance policy
- Each family's attendance determines their registration priority for the following semester — the less you are absent, the sooner you register.
- Families are allowed 2 absences per semester before being placed on probation.
- Probation affects your registration priority for the next semester.

- Year-long core classes = 1 credit hour; semester-long = 0.5 credit hours
- Expect 3–5 hours of weekly work outside of class (homework, tests, projects, possible Zoom sessions)
- Standard A–F grading scale with grade reports for high school courses

Electives & Enrichment
A rotating variety of enrichment classes offered for all ages each semester — from Art and Music to Cooking, Photography, P.E., and more.
- Offerings change semester to semester based on interest and volunteer availability
- High school electives (grades 9–12) receive a pass/fail grade report
- Includes our WACHE Theater Teen Troupe — drama and tech classes with bi-annual productions
Early Childhood
We offer classrooms for siblings ages 4 and under so that families with younger children can participate fully. Early childhood classes are available only for families who also have a K–12 student enrolled.
Students with Special Circumstances
WACHE School strives to be as inclusive as possible. Some classes carry a "special needs friendly" designation in their descriptions, and we have a special needs support group. However, most of our parent-teachers do not have specialized training.
IMPACT — High School Drop-off Option
IMPACT is our optional drop-off program for upper-level students in grades 9–12 (age 14+). IMPACT students may attend without a parent on campus.
- $100 / semester registration fee (in addition to standard fees)
- Required liability, code-of-conduct, and emergency-contact paperwork
A note about our teachers and leadership
Our teachers, board and leadership team are all fellow homeschool parents volunteering their time, talent, heart, and effort for our co-op. They are not paid a salary and also have their own children at home to educate. We are grateful for their service and ask all families to extend grace and appreciation.
